This station opened with the name of Cottesloe Beach and was renamed on 1st of July 1931 as Buckland Hill, then subsequently renamed on the 1st of November 1937 as Mosman Park..

On the 12th of June 1946 the existing Mosman Park Signal box (located beside the Down line and formerly known as Buckland Hill) was closed and operations were transferred to a new signal box in the Station Building on the Up Platform.
